Originally from Italy, Anirvan Deva moved to Aotearoa more than a decade ago and has become a cornerstone of NZ’s ecstatic dance, yoga & alcohol free events / festivals, with his unique mix of mystical atmospheres & multicultural bouncy basslines with a deep groove, often collaborating with some of the nation’s coolest artists. Under the moniker Purusottama, he’s back into BASS music (dubstep, dnb, leftfield) – keep your ears out!

Anirvan got his name with Tantrik Diiksha (initiation) in the practice of Rajadhiraja Yoga in 2005 in Italy. It is a Sanskrit name and means “The one who serves the Creation instead of getting Liberation”. It’s like the concept of Buddhist Bodhisattva, where a person consciously postpones the merging into the Infinite Consciousness (Nirvana) in order to help others to attain Enlightenment.
